Two children drown
Tuesday, 23 April 2013 10:24
HARARE - Two Harare children have drowned after deciding to cool themselves before attending a church service, police have said.

Acting Harare police spokesperson, Tarirai Dube said Osama Raymond, 12, and Ashley Tafadzwa, 13, drowned on Sunday morning at Supersand Dam in Waterfalls.

Dube said Raymond and Tafadzwa, who reside at Eyescourt Farm in Waterfalls, decided to take a swim in Supersand Dam.

“I can confirm that we have received a report of deaths caused by drowning in Waterfalls. We want to urge parents and guardians to protect their children from such dangerous places,” Dube said.

“We are worried that it seems most parents are not being conscious of their children’s movements  and this is causing unnecessary deaths,” Dube said. - Staff Writer
