Daily News launches youth forum
Tuesday, 27 November 2012 09:37
HARARE - They make about 60 percent of the population. But more often than not, youth voices are in the minority.

For decades, Zimbabwean youths, despite playing some key roles since the 1970’s liberation war, have struggled to get their voices heard and their views are usually treated with contempt.

Often, they are only appreciated as pawns, foot soldiers and supporters of grand ideas and actions of ageing politicians, businesspeople and policy makers.

Well, that is about to change.

Starting this week, your favourite newspaper, the Daily News will be running a special edition solely dedicated to the youth.

Look out for the Daily News every Tuesday when we bring you undiluted youth voices, activities and aspirations.

And we will not be doing the talking.

In partnership with youth groups across the spectrum, schools and colleges, the Daily News will be giving a voice to the youths themselves. From politics, reproductive health and teen sex, no subject is taboo. Youths, this is your chance. Talk to us.

Talk to the nation.

Apart from the print forum, the Daily News will also be opening interactive social platforms on its website, www.dailynews.com specifically to let the youths tell their story.

Our Facebook and Twitter platforms will be open too for this special youth drive.

So, don’t miss your copy of the Daily News every Tuesday for the youth edition when we give a voice to Zimbabwe’s future.

*If any youths have news tips or want to contribute they are free to contact our Community Affairs Editor, Margaret Chinowaita on chinowaitam@dailynews.co.zw or on the following phone numbers: 04-798820-9 or mobile 0772430660.
