MDC youths demand posts
Thursday, 06 December 2012 11:04
HARARE - Youths from Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC party are demanding their pound of flesh, and want at least one in every four party candidates in next year’s elections to come from their ranks.

Traditionally used as foot soldiers for ageing politicians, the youth said time has come for party leaders to acknowledge that they form the majority of the population hence deserve better representation.

MDC deputy youth leader Costa Machingauta told party supporters in Zvimba East constituency recently that the party would pay if youths were snubbed.

“We are sick and tired of being stone throwers. We cannot continue being used by these old people. In the next elections we want full representations and we are doing this in conjunction with our mothers (Women’s Assembly),” Machingauta said. - Xolisani Ncube
