HARARE - A Harare man who found his brother’s maid home alone, asked her to show him some of her photos before raping her has appeared in court.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim, visited his brother’s Budiriro home on September 3 this year and started charming the maid.

He praised her for a beautiful hairstyle before asking her to show him photographs she appeared with the hair style, Harare magistrate Don Ndirowei heard.

The maid complied and went to the spare bedroom to collect the photo.

Prosecutor Tungamirai Chakurira told the court that the man followed and locked the bedroom door.

Grabbing her by the neck, he shoved her onto the bed, forcibly removed her clothes and raped her once, the court heard.

The maid later reported the matter to the police leading to his arrest.

He was released on $100 bail and will be back for trial on November 2.
