HARARE - Aspiring MDC candidate for Mbare constituency Sten Zvorwadza has been remanded to next Wednesday for trial on charges of causing political violence.

He is also facing charges of breaching the Electoral Act after he allegedly put up campaign posters at Nenyere Flats on March 15,  2013 on the eve of referendum voting.

Marufu Mandevere, a lawyer representing Zvorwadza, yesterday told the court he needed time to prepare a defence outline since he was handling the matter for the first time.

Denford Halimani, the lawyer who had represented Zvorwadza before, was busy with another matter at the High Court.

Last week, tables were turned against Zvorwadza, who had gone to police to report political violence in the constituency, but ended up as the accused.

Zvorwadza is out on bail. He is being charged with five other MDC youths who are also out on bail.
