HARARE - Five school-going teenagers who watched pornographic films before three of them took turns to rape a 17-year-old-girl while recording the sexual acts have appeared before a Harare magistrate.

The boys, who are from Harare’s Westlea suburb, are Tatenda Mahlengwe, 19, Gift Leroy Masango, 18, Chamunorwa Musemburi, 17,  Adolf Farai Chipwanyira, 16 and Tafadzwa Mutengwa, 17.

They were arraigned before Harare regional magistrate Anita Tshuma on rape charges.

It is alleged the girl met with Musemburi and together they proceeded to Masango’s place of residence.
Prosecutor Tungamirai Chakurira told the court that when the two arrived at Masango’s place, they found Mahlengwe, Mutengwa and Chapwanyira present.

Mahlengwe and Musemburi allegedly unbuttoned the girl’s shirt and dragged her into Masango’s spare bedroom before Mahlengwe raped the girl once.

After the act, the court heard, they went into the dining room where they started watching pornographic films. — Tendai Kamhungira
