Duo steals 3 cellphones, $260 at gun point

HARARE - Two Harare men have appeared in court for allegedly robbing a Willowvale man of three cellphones and $260 at gun point.

Power Muchoni, 37, and Leonard Muregi, 39; together with two others who are still at large, allegedly stole from Farai Dzangare, 55, in Willowvale area in Harare.

The two appeared before magistrate Anita Tshuma on armed robbery charges.

The court heard Muregi stopped Dzangare who was driving along Rainharm road in Willowvale before getting into his car.

Muregi allegedly produced a gun and pointed it at Dzangare before demanding all his valuables.

Magistrate Tshuma heard Mucheni and two others, who are still at large, got into Dzangare’s vehicle and took his three cellphones and $260 before fleeing.

Dzangare later reported the matter to the police leading to the duo’s arrest.

Magistrate Tshuma remanded Muchoni and Muregi in custody to December 31. - Ivan Zhakata
