HARARE - Prime Minister  Morgan Tsvangirai’s spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka was yesterday involved in a horror crash as he drove to his rural home in Domboshawa, 30km east of Harare.

Kudakwashe Matibiri, a close friend to Tamborinyoka, confirmed the accident and said the PM’s spokesperson is in a critical but stable condition.

The accident, Matibiri said, occurred around 2am on Sunday morning when a Toyota Prado that Tamborinyoka and his two brothers and an uncle were travelling in burst a rear tyre before rolling four times.

Tamborinyoka was on the wheel.

“Luke is in a critical but stable condition and he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. He sustained eight broken ribs. The doctors said a rib also punctured his lungs,” said Matibiri.

Two of the three passengers escaped unhurt while one suffered minor injuries.
