HARARE - A lawyer representing former Zifa chief executive Henrietta Rushwaya says the association’s previous president Wellington Nyatanga was aware of the Asiagate trips before they took place, but did not disclose the information to some board members.

Rushwaya’s lawyer Charles Chinyama said this while cross-examining ex-Zifa board member Mwandibhuya Mutepfa.

“If there was any non-disclosure it was suffered at the hands of the accused, it was by your president who did things in your name and hid them from you,” said Chinyama.

Three witnesses have so far testified in the trial of Rushwaya, who is facing nine counts of corruptly concealing a transaction from a principal, charges which emanate from the Warriors’ trips to Asia between 2007 and 2009, where the team was paid by a betting syndicate to lose matches.
