HARARE - Award-winning songster Enoch “Nox” Guni will on Friday release a 15-track album named after his Johannesburg studio Ice n Roses.

The album called Ice n Roses Volume 1 is a compilation of songs by different artistes signed to Guni’s one-year-old studio.

The album includes controversial rapper Maskiri, Tawanda Mugodhi and Guni’s young brother Tafadzwa Guni.

Nox contributed two songs on the album Ndipeiwo and Dai which features Malawian singer Sean Focus.

“Ndipeiwo is a prayer to God asking him to bless me with a woman who truly loves me”, said the hugely popular urban grooves artiste.

“It is every man’s prayer to find a rightful woman so am very sure that this song will appeal to many eligible bachelors,” he said.

Nox is confident the album will be a favourite to many given the talent of the contributors and that of his brother 20-year-old brother who is nicknamed Tyfah.

“The album features Sean Focus a celebrated Malawian artiste and my young brother who is an energetic a talented guitarist and singer”.

Nox‘s studio recently signed a deal with local studio, Heshi Mfeshi under which he will promote the Zimbabwean studio’s artistes to reach a wider market.

Ice n Roses has also signed songbird Diana Samkange and along with several Zimbabwean musicians based in South Africa.

He is currently working on a project with the Gweru-born twins Roy and Royce.

The 29-year-old award-winning artiste has hogged the limelight ever since he hit the airwaves in 2003 with the song Iwe Maria.

After a relative lull, Guni came back with another big hit in 2010 with the song Wenera which also features Maskiri and Chagwa Black.

He has six albums under his belt including Wandipengesa, Rhythm and Blues, Kana Musipo, Chapter 3, Music Love and Me, Tisu Tine Yese and Classic Love Songz.

Nox has done  collaborations with different local and South African artistes including Tererai, Trevor Dongo, Decibel, Cindy and Ex Q, Chiwoniso and a South African rapper called Mucci. - Kaleen Gombera
