HARARE - Mbare's harmonious group Kingdom Praise last Friday launched a DVD for its album The Release at Faith Ministries Mbare Community Church.

The DVD carries 15 tracks.

Mechanic Manyeruke was the guest of honour accompanied by Zambian artiste Kings Mumbi and the Zvinhu zvose zvichanaka singer, Pastor G.

The DVD launch came as a transformation for the Mbare community that has been lagging behind artistically.

Manyeruke delivered a fatherly speech to the audience saying his foundation which is similar to Kingdom Praise was also set up in Mbare.

He urged the group to listen to God more and focus on reading the word to enrich their music.

“I am so proud that you have come all this way and today we are gathered for your DVD launch. I started singing here in Mbare and have been successful in this industry because I read the word of God. Do not listen to what people say, you just have to fulfil your directive from God through singing.

“Do not change your lifestyle because of fame. This is Zimbabwe. We are a cultured people — dress properly always and have one partner in life,” said Manyeruke.

The executive producer of the DVD Pastor Sande said Kingdom Praise which is made up of youths from and around Mbare showed the nation that all things are possible with God as Mbare was often referred to as a gloomy place.

“Mbare is known for all the wrong things people can think of. It is alleged to be the home of prostitution, theft and poverty but there is a different story about the community now as it is producing young adults who are spreading the gospel of God through music” said Sande.

Kingdom Praise performed the song Kuna Mwari kudenga off the new CD.

It is a song full of life.

Pastor G alongside Prime Minista performed the hit song Mabiribobi which has been doing well on national radio stations.

Manyeruke blessed the crowd with a number of songs including Nyika Ino Yakanaka which was well received by the audience.

The DVD was recorded in May this year at an event attended by Faith Ministries bishop Ngwiza Mkandla and Doctor Shingi Munyeza, chief executive officer of African Sun who is also a senior pastor for the church.
