Nox returns to Zim for shows
Friday, 30 November 2012 10:25
HARARE - Zimbabwe can’t just have enough of award-winning urban grooves star Nox Guni!

Guni, who is based in South Africa, has lined up two shows in Bulawayo and Harare during the first week of December.

His first show will be in Bulawayo on December 1 with his second scheduled to take place five days later during the Annual National Youths Awards in Harare.

“I will be in the country end of this week”, Guni told the Daily News yesterday from his South African base.

“The promoters have already finished organising everything. I will be performing in Harare and Bulawayo”.

Nox, who runs his own studio in South Africa called Ice “n” Roses, added that he is always excited to perform in his home country because of the support he gets from his growing fan base.

“I want to thank my fans for supporting me during all my shows. I owe it to my fans to give them the best shows possible”.

The popular artiste reiterated his ambition to set  up a music awards organisation targeting urban grooves musicians.

The Ndinonyara hit-maker’s last performance in Zimbabwe was in the border town of Beitbridge where he shared the stage with popular South African artiste Dj Cleo early this month.

In the capital city his last show was at the Glamis Arena where he was a supporting act to Nigerian R&B duo P-Square in October during the Lion Lager Beerfest.

Nox first hit the limelight in 2003 when he released the track Iwe Maria. He went quiet for a while but started making waves in 2010 when he featured on Maskiri’s song Wenera along with Chagwa Black.

Early this year, Nox released his love hit Ndinonyara which has become a regular feature on radio and during parties.

His latest track Whatsapp has failed to reach the dizzy heights scaled by Ndinonyara.

The track Whatsapp explores the good and bad endeavours faced by people who use the application.

Whatsapp has received a small fan base. On You Tube Ndinonyara has more than 150 000 hits while Whatsapp has 15 000. - Kaleen Gombera
