HARARE - Zimbabwean artistes Buffalo Souljah and DJ Oskido did the country proud by scooping prestigious Channel O awards on Saturday night in Soweto, South Africa.

Buffalo Souljah, together with DJ Oskido who is originally from Zimbabwe, raised the flag high at the awards which were however, dominated by Nigerian artistes.

Receiving his award for the most gifted reggae dance hall award for his song Styra Inonyengesa which features Cabo Snoop, Buffalo Souljah gave a big up to his country Zimbabwe.

Clad in a black expensive-looking outfit he said, “Shout out to Zimbabwe” at the end of his speech.

The 2012 special recognition award recipient was Oskido for his contribution to music and inspiration to South African artistes.

Many South African artistes groomed and inspired by the Zimbabwe-born artiste gave tribute to him that praised the good changes he made to the South African music industry.

The whole show was dominated by tributes to Oskido.

Oskido who later performed his song I believe thanked his family and friends for the support they gave him even when bad things were being said about him.
