HARARE - South African-based urban groove artiste Enock “Nox” Guni has started promoting his local counterparts, in a bid to help them reach the regional and international market.

Nox runs his own studio called Ice ‘n’ Roses and signed a deal with local studio, Heshi Mfeshi whereby he is set to promote some of its artistes to reach a wider market.

“We just joined forces so we can help each other in bringing the music to the world. Ice ‘n’ Roses will act as an online marketing agency as well as international booking agency for some of the Heshi Mfeshi artistes. We are also signing Diana Samkange on a separate but similar deal.

“We have also signed Tawanda Mugodhi on a full contract from recording, marketing and management. He becomes the second artist to be officially signed by Ice ‘n’ Roses after a young, talented boy called Tyfah, who also happens to be my brother,” he said.

The star said he is glad to be involved in such a project as it gives him a purpose in life.

“It is a fulfilling feeling to be noticed and appreciated. This deal is meant to benefit artistes more than anyone else and it is something that I feel good doing knowing that I am helping fellow artistes with all I have,” he said.

Nox has had exposure on both the local and international market.

He is doing exceptionally well and has been on several international tours from England to Australia to Canada only to mention but a few.

The artiste will now be working as a window for the exposure to other local artistes.

Joe Machingura, executive producer at Heshi Mfeshi said they are looking forward to working with Nox on the project.

“It is a studio to studio arrangement, not on specific artistes. Any signed artiste to Heshi Mfeshi who wants to be marketed through Ice ‘n’ Roses will be represented at studio level. The institution has grown and we now need strategic partners to help us grow.

“So far we are signing Shinso, Leonard Mapfumo and Yoz. We are still talking to Taurai Mandebvu as we have a different arrangement with him,” he said.

Apart from being a musician, the Midlands State University graduate is a full time employee as a business development executive for an IT training company in South Africa.

Nox is among the first breed of urban grooves artists, getting onto the music scene with songs such as Iwe Maria.

Last year, he began to make his mark again on the music scene with songs such as Wenera in which he featured Maskiri and Chagwa Black.

Ndinonyara did it for him again as people are enjoying this hit. After Ndinonyara, Nox has been releasing scorchers including Ini Ndada, Kana Ndinewe.

He has six albums to his name including Wandipengesa, Rhythm and Blues, Kana Musipo, Chapter 3, Music Love and Me, Tisu Tine Yese and Classic Love Songz.
