HARARE - Dendera musician Tryson Chimbetu will finally launch his fourth album Compass tomorrow at Ligi Sports bar in Harare.

Compass was supposed to have been released earlier this year during the commemoration gig of his father Naison on March 22.

Tryson’s failure to reach an agreement with Diamond Studios scuttled the planned launch.

The six-track album carries songs like Mombe Mombe, Pahotera which features superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Bhora Mberi a duet with Peter Moyo, Ndondo, Pfuti and Wangu.

It was recorded at Mtukudzi’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton.

Nyasha Mugari, the Marxist Brothers band manager confirmed the album launch.

“The wait is over, by Wednesday fans will be enjoying the new album which is promising to be his best so far and it is being marketed by Diamond Studios,” said Mugari.

“A compass is a navigational instrument that shows directions and in this context the album will go a long way in showing fans the real definition or direction of dendera music,” said Mugari.

Guests expected to attend the launch include Media and Information minister Webster Shamu, Tryson’s cousin Suluman Chimbetu and Alick Macheso.

“The album twhich was suppose to be released during the Dr Nero commemoration but due to logistical problems we failed to meet the deadline,” said Mugari.

“The songs have received overwhelming support from fans and that alone gave us more confidence with this project,” he said.

Tryson’s previous albums are Nguva yaChimbetu, Marxist Revival and Bvamrod.
