Manyeruke, Magacha thrill Bulawayo

BULAWAYO -  Renowned gospel musician Sebastian Magacha put up a memorable show during a Zimpraise concert over the weekend in Bulawayo.

The show, that also included legendary gospel artiste Mechanic Manyeruke, was held at the Large City Hall.

The highlight of the show was when Magacha of the Bhosvo fame shared the stage with Manyeruke and Takesure Zamar Ncube of Worship Addicts, as he churned out hits like Bhosvo, Ndomudana and Shaura among others.

Manyeruke, for his part, proved that his yesteryear fame was no fluke as he belted out hits such as Moses, Josepha and Madhimoni.

As old as he is, the Zimbabwean gospel legend impressed the gospel fans with energetic dance moves that belied his age.

Gospel hotshot Magacha praised his Bulawayo fans for their support.

“I enjoyed the show very much”, said Magacha.

“The crowd was amazing and I was surprised at how my fans sang along to my songs. I performed songs which were requested by my fans. They enjoyed it and I thank my fans for their support”.

The musician said it was important for gospel musicians from all over Zimbabwe to unite the nation by preaching the gospel through song.

“Unity is important among us musicians; we need to practise what we preach.

“I dream of a day when Zimbabwean gospel musicians will come together because it is in unity that we conquer all things”.

Zimpraise chief operations officer Wellington Kwenda hosts of the concert, echoed the same sentiments as Magacha, saying it was their vision to unite the nations.

“Our vision is uniting the world through worship, so we should start in our own nation, and then we can be able to affect the whole world.

“We are therefore thankful to other groups which came to support us, which shows unity”, said Kwenda.

The concert was part of the Zimpraise tour of Zimbabwe which began in Gweru last Friday. - Nyasha Chingono
