Kaindu will not make new signings
Thursday, 07 February 2013 11:08
HARARE - Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu has stymied expectations of Bosso making major signings ahead of the upcoming new season.

Kaindu revealed he will keep faith in the team that finished runners-up to champions Dynamos last season.

The Zambian said his team were also unlikely to release players with the exception of one who may go on loan.

“I want to make it clear that we will not be holding any trials for the season to acquire new players, but any player who wants to come and try their luck is free to join us, although we are not desperate to sign anyone,” Kaindu told the Daily News yesterday.

“We might add one or two players but without releasing anyone this season, we have a good squad, but like any other team during off-season, we will see who we can get.”

Despite losing the title to bitter rivals Dynamos on goal difference on the last day of the season, Tshilamoya provided the bulk of players on the 2012 Soccer Stars calendar, which has given Kaindu hope ahead of the new season.

“With the way we played last year, we are on the right track and this season we will be fighting for the big one,” Kaindu added.

Bosso’s rivals have been active in the transfer market, and it was anticipated that the Bulawayo giants would also be making signings to fortify their charge for the Premiership trophy. But that has not been the case.

“Retaining last season’s players is very good for me and is a positive sign for the growth of the club. It makes my job easier since we had good combinations last season. Most of these players understand our way of doing things and they know the vision we outlined last year.” - Blessings Mashaya
